Which Australian states are nominating applicants from India?

State nomination adds 5 points for the subclass 190 and 15 for the 491, and each state runs its own program. Status as observed on 7 October 2026; programs open and close during the year.

New South Wales

CLOSED / 2026-27 not yet opened. Official page (fetched 2026-10-07): applications are now closed for the current program year as all available nomination places have been fully allocated; NSW is reviewing the program settings and eligibility criteria for the next program year. 491 page lists Pathway 1 (regional employment) and Pathway 3 (regional graduate) as closed to new applications; Pathway 2 (Investment NSW invitation) remains the invitation pathway but nomination applications are closed.

Victoria

The 2025-26 program closed to new Registrations of Interest on 28 April 2026 after oversubscription; the Victorian Government says 2026-27 details (opening date, allocation, criteria) will be published when available. As at 2026-10-07 the official migration.sa.gov.au news feed shows no 2026-27 opening or allocation announcement (latest items 25 Jun, 2 Jul and 13 Jul 2026), and the occupation list page was reported taken down pending the 2026-27 list.

CAUTION: one third-party tracker (oneuedu, Oct 2026) reports an official NT notice of 5 October 2026 that the 2026-27 program is full and no overseas pathway is accepting new applications; this could not be verified because theterritory.com.au blocks automated access.
