- Minimum 65 points on the Home Affairs points test (including nomination points); EOI points decide ranking, lodgement date breaks ties.
- Work Experience
- At least one year of Australian or overseas work experience in the nominated or closely related occupation (Schedule 1: 1 year in the last 10 years).
- English
- Competent English (IELTS 6 in each band or equivalent; higher for some occupations); UK, Canada, NZ, USA and Ireland passport holders exempt.
- Other
- 190 General stream requires a full-time WA employment contract of at least 6 months (building & construction occupations exempt); no contract required for 491. Invitation rounds anticipated monthly.
